About State Laws

Do Your Contracts Comply
With the Laws of My State?

Our contracts are drafted with a minimal amount of legalese, with the main provisions being in simple and concise form, thus the main content of each document is enforceable under common law.
If your state has enacted any version of an Equine Liability Act, the contracts are reviewed so as to be compliant with your state’s version of the Equine Liability Act. If your state has a specific warning required in the statute to appear in the documents, your state-specific warning is contained therein. The only documents where the state warnings are not specifically included are the installment sales agreements or other forms that do not pertain to interaction with horses, such as the medical authorization for minor children left on your property.

For those states that either do not have an Equine Liability Act (there are now only a few) or a specific warning required, the documents involving interaction with horses contain an extensive acknowledgment and release of the inherent risks of equine activities.

We have gone to great lengths to draft these documents in an aggressive fashion for your protection. Given the unique nature of this industry, some documents may not be adequate for every single use. As a consequence, you can’t go wrong by having a local attorney look these over.

I Only Need One Document Right Now.
Why Should I Order All the Others?

This may be the most frequently asked question, and the answer is simple. Today, you may only be renting out a few stalls and have no intention of doing anything else. Even so, the price of the product is so affordable you would be hard-pressed to have an attorney draft your boarding contract and Parent/Minor release from scratch for under two or three hundred dollars.

Although there are other forms available on the market, we do not believe they are as thorough or as aggressively drafted as ours are. So for a very modest price, you will acquire virtually all the documents you need at a cost that is difficult to beat. In addition, there are other activities that you may have no intention of participating in just now. However, you may expand or, of necessity, engage in other activities as time goes on. You may not be standing a Stallion at your facility this year, but you might be next year. You might as well have everything you need ready to go on your computer.

Lastly, nothing is ever as simple as it appears. You may only be renting out a few stalls to friends initially. However, do their children ride the horses at your facility? Are they ever left at your facility for periods of time while the parents depart? These common occurrences necessitate additional documents such as an Authorization to Obtain Medical Treatment for a minor child if they get hurt while the parents are gone and a Facility Use Release for folks using your arena or borrowing your horse.
Our objective has always been to provide the professional equestrian and serious amateur with all the commonly required documents for a typical horse operation, whether it’s a stud farm or boarding facility. We have engineered the product to make it available to you at a price so affordable that every barn should have them as part of their standard business practice.

How Does Your System Work?

You will receive a ZIP file containing your documents. When you open your ZIP file, it will open to all of the individual documents. Simply select the document you need and follow the directions to customize your agreement in the file entitled “Read Me.”
It is as simple as that.

Is Your Order System Secure Enough
For Me to Safely Use My Credit Card?

We wouldn’t have it any other way. Not only is the order system secure, but within the company, your credit card information is specially coded so that it is accessible only by those who actually process credit card sales.
Furthermore, we do not share data with any other organizations or vendors. You will not receive any consequential spam or solicitations.
